How to Make The contours of Google Earth

As is known, Google Earth using elevation data from the USGS to visualize the height difference on the surface of the earth. The elevation data can be downloaded directly from the USGS website.

But in GIS tutorial video below, you will be shown how to download Google Earth fit the contours of the area that you need. So in stages, you create a path in Google Earth fit the required area, then by using two free software, the path will be converted into contour lines.

The two free software is TCX Converter and Quick Grid. So actually you do not download the data directly from the Google Earth contours, but the software TCX Converter that do the work. Results of TCX Converter form csv file that contains the easting, northing and elevation of the paths that have previously been made in Google Earth.

Csv file the results of TCX Converter is then modified slightly and then editing the file was opened in Quick Grid software to generate contour data in the form of a line. Quick Grid software only option, you can use paid software such as Global Mapper or ArcGIS to generate contour data.
